Death is more universal than life, everyone dies but not everyone lives. A. Sachs

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Dorothy Martin Simond who was born in United States on August 27, 1956 and passed away on May 18, 2017. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Dorothy was a mother, grandmother, and friend, but most important to her, she was a Believer and Follower of Jesus.

One of Dorothy’s greatest loves, and accomplishments in this world was that of her family. Dorothy loved her family to such a great extent that it can’t even be described with words. Dorothy was the mother of three beautiful daughters, Shelia, Calbrina and Cathy and one amazing son, Frederick. Her children meant the world to her. Raising her children was not easy, and as a family she and her children faced many struggles, but throughout all of it, Dorothy had the greatest love that a mother could ever have for her children.

Dorothy’s love extended to the many people that were in her life, including her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous friends.

Dorothy wasn’t just an ordinary woman. She cared about and loved people in a very deep way. She had a presence that affected many. She enjoyed sharing the story of her Salvation, the story of her life, and in doing so, she was able to touch the lives of many people in such a way that they too would welcome the Lord into their lives. Her testimony is one that continues to impact others to this day.

Dorothy’s Story:  Throughout her younger years Dorothy struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction. There were times in her life that she was homeless, eating out of garbage cans and sleeping in dope houses. She was involved in prostitution and at times walked the streets.

As she stated, “The devil had her in bondage.”

One day, she went to a church that was near her home. At the church she met Pastor Kilpatrick. The pastor was talking about God. Dorothy asked him, “Can God help me?” And to her amazement, he said, “Yes, Dorothy, just turn your life over to God.”  And Dorothy did just that!  She took that huge step, and turned her life over to God, and accepted Jesus as her Savior.

Four months later, she had quit using the alcohol and drugs, and had turned her life around.

From that point forward, it became important to Dorothy to share her story of Salvation so that she could provide encouragement to others and help show them the way out of the darkness of addiction, and into the light and the love of Jesus.

To this day, even though Dorothy is no longer here with us in everyday life, her testimony continues to impact the lives of many people.
